HONORING ALASKA GOLD STAR FAMILIES – FAMILIES ARRIVE TO PICK UP THEIR MEMORIAL PLAQUES & PORTRAITS
02/06/2026
Tribute to Fallen Soldiers was extremely disappointed last summer ( July of 2025 ) when our Tribute Ride event for Alaska’s fallen service members was canceled due to a lack of support from the state.
We simply didn’t get the support we needed to make the event happen for ( 24 ) Alaska Gold Star families.
Tribute to Fallen Soldiers is pleased to announce that each of these families will finally receive their Memorial Plaques and Portraits beginning today, ( Friday, Feb. 6th ) and through this weekend.
The Anchorage Elks Lodge ( Lodge #2868 ) is hosting a weekend event beginning today, where members of each of the ( 24 ) families can pick up their items honoring their fallen service members.
It took 7 long months for this to happen, but we’re pleased to let everyone know all of these lovely and precious items have made their way to Anchorage for delivery.
Tribute to Fallen Soldiers would like to thank Katrina Sharp and the Anchorage Elks Lodge and their volunteers for assisting in this special delivery for these very special families. ( We hope to have photos soon to share with all of you )
Thank you to everyone who made this happen.
Let us #NeverForget our fallen service members.
And a special thank you to Mark Howell

Today, (Saturday, February 7th) in Anchorage, Alaska, Gold Star families began arriving at Elks Lodge #2868 to pick up their Memorial Plaques of Distinguished Service and Memorial Portraits.
Unfortunately, last July ( 2025 ), our Tribute to Fallen Soldiers Memorial Torch Motorcycle Ride to honor Alaska’s fallen service members was canceled due to lack of support.
Today those (24) Gold Star families we intended to honor last summer started arriving to the Elks Lodge in Anchorage to pick up their cherished and special items.
Tribute to Fallen Soldiers is privileged to finally be able to present each family with their memorial gifts.
Thank you to Gold Star mother Katrina Sharp, Mark Howell, the Anchorage Elks Lodge, Jim Rea, and Alaska Airlines. Also, a huge thank you to all of the Tribute Riders who chose to participate last summer.
Let us #NeverForget Alaska’s Fallen

Today, ( Sunday, February 8th ), Super Bowl Sunday, more Alaska Gold Star families are arriving at the Anchorage Elks Lodge to pick up their Memorial Plaques and Memorial Portraits.
These very special items are intended to honor and pay tribute to our fallen service members, and to graciously remind our Gold Star families that we have not forgotten their fallen soldiers.
We’re so grateful for your kindness and for allowing us to honor your service member. And thank you for all of your kind thoughts and words.
Thank you from all of us at Tribute to Fallen Soldiers.
